Strange pics and great music

Posting has been in short supply recently.  I am being crushed by work right now, and I am pretty sure Logan has no excuse but is most likely in the woods taking black and white photos of microscopic insects, fallen tree branches or this thing.  But have faith... the end is in sight (not Logan's pictures, just my work).

That said, there is SO MUCH tight music coming out right now.  I want to post like 40 songs but time is tight, so I'm going to keep it to a few teasers.  They could not be more different.

First, I already posted about Louis La Roche and how I wish I was half as cool as him when I was 17.  The Sidechains took his "Peach" track and made it into an absolute banger.  If Davidson parties operated in any way like real clubs do, this song would be the equivalent of "Just Dance" or anything by Rihanna.  Obviously they don't, but it is still definitely worth your time.

I cannot even describe how beautiful and sexy this next song is.  Jem did a cover on Coldplay's "Yellow" and blew Coldplay away.  Every boy and girl should lose their virginity to this song bc it would make it totally more meaningful.  It is a genuine masterpiece.

Lastly, if you are looking for the first nominee for ridiculously absurd song of the year than we have found it for you.  If you are unable to laugh at this song then we suggest you go see a therapist.  That said, you will hear it coming from my apartment all spring.

Club

Benny Benassi knows how to get people on their feet. Britney knows how to get people off them.

Together, we get something pretty tight.

Awesome collaboration between Santogold and Three Six Mafia.  Check it out.  I really dig it and guarantee you will also.

Kenneth Bager

Kenneth Bager is a Danish dj who recently put out a song titled "Fragment Seven"

In the song, he has quite a nice little intermission with a funky diatribe.

"In the hippy days yeah, it was, you know you'd put on the black lights and the blob lamp and the, you know, psychadelic things, and you could smoke pot in these places. I mean, that was all part of it. That was ok."

"Um, but, yeah these parties were really really wild, but i guess back then they were ok. as the evening progressed, these parties would get like wilder and wilder and wilder. And in the morning, you know about 11 o'clock in the morning everyone would just then be settling in to going to bed, like to sleep. and they'd be going to sleep there on the floor.

it was completely fine to sleep with somebody else. in fact, it was completely fine to sleep with your best friend in front of the other person."

Sometimes the best DJ tracks have the funkiest stops.

Les Fleurs did a remix of the original. Further, there is a nice little re-remix titled "Pocketknife's Beach Blanket Bongo Mix) It's a more relaxed version, very nice.

Sky High Mixtape

So this has been in the works for quite some time, but the official final product is finally here!  Benzi and Plain Pat have taken some of Kanye's best pre-808's tracks and made them gold.  A lot of these songs have leaked over the course of the last 4 months or so, but I totally recommend downloading the whole thing.  All the songs have been mastered and edited for final cut.  This mixtape easily contends with Lil Wayne's "Dedication 3" mixtape.  Follow the link to Benzi's website and check it out!

New Geico Song is BOMB

You have definitely seen the new commercials by now.  No more cavemen, just a stack of money with some googly eyes.  Kind of cute and funny looking.  Anyways, the song is absolutely tight.

Little Bit Remix

Great new addition to one of the best songs of 2008.  Adding the male vocals and a short rap line gives a total new face to the song.  I really dig it.

Eminem Returns

It's been a long time since we've heard from Em.  He's definitely pulling the old crew back together for his return.  Featuring 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, and stealing the beat from "Preservation", this track has some serious potential.  Sit back, crack a bottle, and take a listen.

MIA

No, not the artist.  Just the best description of posts on this blog.  Anyways, time to shake off the cobwebs and get the ball rolling again.  Let's start with some nice remixes from DiscoTech.  Equally impressive work on two #1 songs, one from 2008 and one from 1965.  Anyways, check them out.

Happy New Year

Be still now

I am with you, I am deep within you;

You are at peace

You cannot be harmed; you will not suffer.

Breathe deeply

Breath in the healing love of the universe, and breathe out the sickness which has taken you.

I am with you.
